Eintracht Frankfurt are not particularly concerned about apparent interest from Newcastle United and Manchester United in Hugo Larsson this summer.

Absolut Fußball report on the 22-year-old today after reports in England suggested Newcastle and Manchester United are keen on the Swedish midfielder.

Frankfurt unconcerned

According to their information, there is no ‘immediate pressure’ on Eintracht Frankfurt to act on the apparent interest in their midfielder.

Hugo Larsson has a contract with the German side until 2029, and it doesn’t contain a release clause. He is one of the most valuable players in the squad, despite an inconsistent campaign last season, and Frankfurt want to keep him.

They are also boasted by the fact that, according to their information, the midfielder ‘can envisage staying’ in Frankfurt this summer. He would, though, be open to discussions if a suitable offer were to come in.

Internally, Frankfurt have set a €60m asking price for the midfielder. Such a sum is considered unrealistic, though. That doesn’t mean the Bundesliga side will let him go ‘for less than his worth’ this summer.

€40m to start talks

According to reports, suitors need at least €40m to even enter into serious talks. Absolut Fußball do not confirm that, however.

He is currently valued at €28m after a difficult season saw his value drop. That has, perhaps, prompted potential interest from Newcastle and Manchester United.

The Magpies are rebuilding their midfielder after selling Sandro Tonali. United, meanwhile, want a third central midfielder following the signings of Youri Tielemans and Andrey Santos.

Whether they’d want to spend big on Larsson remains to be seen. After a season in which he struggled to kick on at Frankfurt, questions are being asked.

For now, it seems that Eintracht Frankfurt aren’t particularly concerned. They’re aware of the potential interest and bid from the Premier League, but the lack of a release clause means the power is in their hands.
