After impressing during a season-long loan at Everton during the 2018/19 campaign, Andre Gomes has a market in the Premier League.

Barcelona want to offload the midfielder and earlier reports suggested the Toffees and West Ham United are vying to sign the player.

Two days ago, we covered a report from Mundo Deportivo, who explained the 25-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club.

It was also claimed the Hammers are willing to offer more than Marco Silva’s side are ready to pay the La Liga winners for the player.

Saturday’s edition of the same newspaper has a report on the former Valencia man and it’s stated Gomes ‘may be the first to leave’ the Camp Nou in the summer transfer window.

Both clubs are mentioned again.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side completed the signing of Pablo Fornals from Villarreal on Friday and therefore, in principle, Everton have ‘no competition’ in securing Gomes’ services on a permanent transfer.

Mundo states Everton are trying to lower the price as Barca are demanding €30m for Gomes. Apart from that, the Spanish champions and the English side ‘agree on almost everything’ for the midfielder to return to Goodison Park.

With Barca wanting to offload Gomes and the latter and Everton keen for the transfer to go through, there is a hope the deal could be completed soon.
