Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s impressive start to his life at Napoli has seen several clubs take note, including Newcastle United.
The winger has scored eight goals and registered 10 assists from 17 matches in all competitions this season.
Last week, The Times stated Newcastle scouts regularly watched the 21-year-old in action for the Serie A side and have received positive reports. It was also explained the Magpies want the star, who is valued at around €57m.
Responding to this claim at the weekend, journalist Carlo Alvino laughed at the price quoted in England and insisted there won’t be any talks for a fee less than €120m.
Sport Express now spoke to Cristiano Giuntoli, the Naples club’s sporting director, over the latest claim of Newcastle’s interest in signing the Georgia international.
Responding to that, Giuntoli said: “Newcastle interest in Khvicha? There is no chance that we’ll let him go, despite the amount of the offer.”
It’s to be noted Sport Express don’t quote any figure in their report.
Napoli took the attacker in the summer and handed him a five-year contract. Newcastle may struggle to negotiate with the Italians for Kvaratskhelia in the next two windows, unless they decide to spend in excess of €100m.
