Back when Fernandinho revealed he’s unlikely to extend his contract with Manchester City, and would therefore leave the club this summer, the Brazilian media pointed out a few clubs who were interested in his signing. One of them was Corinthians.

That information, however, is now dismissed by club correspondent Samir Carvalho. On his Youtube channel, he brings all the information he took from people at the club this week.

According to the journalist, Corinthians did not get in touch to sign the Manchester City player and don’t plan to do it right now.

It’s claimed there’s ‘no chance’ there’d be a deal to sign the midfielder, especially because he’s turning 37 in May. So he’d be a veteran with a big salary, which is not thought to be worth it.

With Fernandinho expected to leave Manchester City to make a return to Brazil, it continues to be likely that he moves to his former club Athletico Paranaense, where he started his career.

However, with richer clubs such as Atletico Mineiro and Flamengo also being linked to him, it would be no surprise to see him joining one of those.
