It appears that Navy Keïta’s injuries woes have followed him to Werder Bremen mere weeks after his exit from Liverpool was confirmed, as per Sky Germany.
A hefty signing by the Reds when he was bought from RB Leipzig for €60m, the Guinea international saw his time at Anfield plagued by numerous injury setbacks.
This led to him running his contract down at Liverpool, with Werder Bremen willing to give him a chance, seeing as he was on a free.
Everything looked good up until Sunday, when he pulled out of a friendly against VfB Oldenburg during the warm up, which his team ended up winning 3-1.
The club have now announced the severity of the injury, and Sky Germany believe he is now ‘likely to miss the start of the season’ with the Bundesliga side.
This really isn’t what the player will have wanted after his exit from Liverpool, as he will have seen the move as a chance to put all that misery behind him and start afresh.
He will now have to wait a bit longer before making his official debut, in hope that he can fully recover and then come back stronger than ever.
Der Ex-Profi des FC Liverpool verpasst damit voraussichtlich den Saisonstart. 😮
