Nick Woltemade wants everyone to know that he is very, very happy at Newcastle United. His latest interview in SportBILD is further evidence of that.

He’s been speaking to the newspaper today as they cover winners and losers from 2025. He is very much seen as a winner.

It’s been a busy year for the striker after he spent the summer being heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich. That ultimately never happened as Newcastle came in on deadline day and paid €80m for him to replace Alexander Isak.

Woltemade has flourished since, with seven goals and one assist across 21 appearances to date, including his first goal in the Champions League.

The striker has been loving life at St James Park, regularly admitting he finds the North East of England great, even comparing Newcastle to life in Germany.

He’s fully aware that the pressure is on for him to replace Isak, although it’s not something he’s particularly concerned about.

Big Nick is happy

Woltemade been living up to that pressure so far, earning himself his own song, which has only helped his integration. And now he insists he has zero regrets about the move, after Eddie Howe convinced him of it.

“Everything in life happens for a reason,” he said.

“The failed Bayern transfer is the perfect example of that. I’m incredibly happy to be in Newcastle now. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have happened at all. In hindsight, I’m glad it turned out this way. I believe that everything happens for a reason.

“When my agent informed me about Newcastle’s interest, I was at home in Stuttgart. I was immediately keen and wanted to hear what they had to say.

“Then we had a video conference with Eddie Howe, who completely convinced me. I felt like: I’m doing it! In the end, everything happened quite quickly.”
