It appears that Mirco Antenucci still has fond memories of his time at Leeds United, as he brought up his time at Elland Road at the weekend during a game between SPAL and Pineto.
La Casa di C have an article on the incident, if you want to call it that, pointing out the ‘nice exchange’ that took place between the former Whites forward and the president of Pineto, Silvio Brocco.
It all started nearly 10 years ago, when Antenucci was still at Leeds, and had an autographed shirt of his delivered to Brocco.
With the forward still playing aged 39 for SPAL and facing Pineto, the two men took the opportunity to commemorate that moment with a picture, as Brocco brought the shirt to the game as a souvenir.
The game ended 1-1, but it still allowed the two to remember what happened nearly 10 years ago, when, ‘with the help of his brother’, who was playing for Pineto at the time, Antenucci ‘delivered an autographed and dedicated Leeds top’.
They met up and ‘immortalised’ the moment with a picture and the number 7 shirt in the foreground, showing ‘relaxed and smiling faces’.
For Leeds fans wondering how Antenucci is fairing these days in Serie C with SPAL, he has two goals and an assist in 17 league appearances for the Italian side.
