Celta Vigo are eyeing up a move for Norwich City star Teemu Pukki when his contract expires at the end of the season.

That’s according Galicia Press, who say the Norwich striker is ‘among the favourites’ at the club as they line up summer targets.

The outlet explains that the Spanish club are looking to bolster their forward line in the summer transfer window and want to repeat the trick they managed in 2015 when they signed John Guidetti on a free transfer from Manchester City.

He proved to be a big hit at the club, and they now want to repeat that with Pukki, a player whose career has not been ‘very different’ from that of Guidetti’s.

Like the Swedish star, he has bounced around Europe but found his place at Norwich, where he has 75 goals and 20 assists in 159 games so far.

His contract expires in the summer, and he ‘seems to have closed his cycle in England’, with reports indicating that he could be thinking about a move elsewhere in the summer.

That’s where Celta Vigo comes into the mix. They like the idea of signing Pukki because he is ‘nice and he is cheap’, and they need an option upfront.

They’re not bothered about his age and believe he can ‘complement’ what they already have in the squad, much like Guidetti did in the past.
