PSG casting at least a little doubt around Neymar’s standing at the club has taken over much of the Spanish sport media.
Paul Pogba’s weekend come-and-get-me-plea efforts have been edged aside, because it’s signing Neymar which is seen as more exciting, and that’s for both Madrid and Barcelona.
Marca say that what seemed impossible a couple of months ago, now looks a lot likelier. They believe PSG have opened the door and decided to make a transfer achievable.
Neymar has ‘at no time found what he was looking for’ in Paris, and it’s now the club which ‘invites him to leave’.
Things have been changing, and ‘for months’ the player’s father has been sending ‘clear and direct’ messages to the Spanish side.
He’s called Real Madrid executives twice, and has both times been told: “He is a PSG player and we respect the French club.”
That doesn’t mean there’s no interest, they just don’t want a war with PSG.
There’s been no move made from the Bernabeu so far, report Marca, with the club waiting for a ‘gesture’ or ‘a wink’ from Neymar.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are said to be in the background, with an obvious issues being the player’s €40m legal proceedings, for unpaid bonuses, against his former club.
