The future of Jesus Navas at Manchester City is under serious doubt after the arrivals of Leroy Sane, Gabirel Jesus (next January), and Nolito.
The 30-year-old managed just 1 goal in 52 appearances last season, and was important to previous manager Manuel Pellegrini.
However, it’s unlikely Pep Guardiola has the same affection towards Navas, and reports in the Spanish media link him with a move back to La Liga.
According to Diario de Sevilla on Friday, the name of Jesus Navas is still on the minds of Sevilla. Diario de Sevilla say the negotiations to sign Navas have ‘many aspects’ and that it isn’t ‘plain sailing’.
A Sevilla official also confirmed the club are waiting for the European Super Cup, after which they’ll reassess their squad. The Spaniard has just one year left on his contract at the Etihad, and it remains to be seen if Guardiola wants to keep him as a cover for next season.
