Earlier this week, reports from the Portuguese media claimed that Sporting are interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir.

TVI24 said Lions’ manager Ruben Amorim is an admirer of the 23-year-old and would like to have him in his squad for next season.

Now as local newspapers get to check this information, A Bola comes up to dismiss the claims.

The outlet today writes that Mir is ‘out of the Lion’s orbit’ as he’s not in the club’s plans for next season.

Rafa Mir is now entering the final year of his contract with Wolves. Following his €2m move from Valencia back in January 2018, the striker had few chances to prove himself for the Molineux side.

He’s been having loans spells at UD Las Palmas, Nottingham Forest and finally Huesca, where he spent last season.

With 16 goals in 39 appearances for the La Liga side, his good year is perhaps the sign that Wolves could find a good deal for his permanent departure this summer.
