Serie A club Napoli could be interested in signing Newcastle star Georginio Wijnaldum, report Gazzetta dello Sport.
Napoli fear losing their primary targets Piotr Zielinski and Hector Herrera to Liverpool, and could turn their attention to Wijnaldum.
The 25-year-old could be subject of more interest from Serie A clubs, and has also been linked to AS Roma, who want to replace Miralem Pjanic with the Dutchman.
Wijnaldum scored 11 goals and 5 assists this season in 38 league appearances, and has been on of the best players for the Magpies.
Newcastle would obviously want to keep him, and manager Rafael Benitez recently confirmed they want to keep most of their players, despite relegation.
The Dutch international signed for the club at the start of the season in a €20m deal, and it’s very likely any club wanting to sign him must pay at least that.
We’d like to add Hector Herrera seems to be quite close to a move to Napoli, whilst Zielinski could still sign for Liverpool at some point in the transfer window.
