The Spanish media continues to name Newcastle United as one of the competitors for the signing of Gabri Veiga.

The latest claims on the future of the Celta Vigo star are made by SER (via Fichajes), who claims the player is wanted by several clubs.

Newcastle are in that list, although they apparently have competition from Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The La Liga giants could be worried about the competition from the Premier League, with the story saying the English clubs ‘will do the unspeakable’ to convince him of making such move.

That can only be good for Celta Vigo, who are about to see an auction for the midfielder, although he has a €40m release clause.

The rumours linking Newcastle to the 20-year-old have been ongoing since last month, and given his change of agents, there’s been more noise about a potential exit from the Spanish club.

Veiga has eight goals and three assists in La Liga this season, and that makes a summer move sound very likely, especially because he was officially promoted to the first team just last summer.
