Newcastle United and West Ham are interested in Villarreal’s Karl Toko-Ekambi but face competition from Lyon for his services.
Lyon are on the hunt for a new forward this month having lost Memphis Depay and Jeff Reine Adelaide to long-term injuries.
They have turned their attention to Toko-Ekambi, who has six goals in 19 games in all competitions this season, and have already made a bid of €14m with bonuses according to Le 10 Sport.
That was quickly rejected by the Spanish side, who ‘expect’ to get at least €25m if they are to sell their striker this month.
Whether Lyon are willing to match that is unknown, but they are not the only ones interested, with Newcastle and West Ham both named as suitors.
According to Le 10’s information, the Premier League pair ‘have just landed’ on Ekambi, with the Magpies ‘very hot’ on the idea of signing him in this window.
Neither Newcastle nor West Ham have made a bid as yet, but know Villarreal’s conditions, specifically that €25m asking price, for them to get a deal done.
