From the day Aleksandar Mitrovic arrived at Newcastle United it was clear the club had a potential cult hero on their hands. Since then things haven’t gone swimmingly all the time, but when Mitorvic is on fire, and right now he is, he’s a huge fan favourite.
The Serbian has recently had some chances under Rafa Benitez and has done so well that there’s been rumours in Italy Napoli are interested. Those rumours are now pretty much dead, with the Italian club wanting someone experienced in Serie A, but that the idea wasn’t laughable shows Mitrovic has the talent.
Now away with the Serbian squad, the Newcastle United player has a rather important World Cup Qualifier coming up against Wales in Cardiff on Saturday. Whilst much of the talk in Serbia has been about the Welsh players to fear, Mitrovic believes he and his attacking pals should be feared too.
Quoted by Mondo, Mitrovic said: “The Welsh should be afraid of our attackers. Tadic, Katai, me. Lately I play well, I’m fit and I hope to contribute to the victory of Serbia.”
Newcastle United fans will surely be watching the match eagerly, to see how terrified Mitrovic can make the Welsh defence… or not.
