On Friday evening, Gianluca Di Marzio reported Bologna and West Ham United are both keen on Toulouse defender Logan Costa.

The Hammers have been linked with half of Europe this week, so it was no surprise to see their name thrown in, but now Newcastle United are also pulled into the picture.

According to Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, Eddie Howe’s side ‘want him’, along with Bologna. The Italian newspaper reports Toulouse are looking for something around €15m for their 23-year-old centre back.

Instead Bologna want to come up with a formula that would see them pay €11m initially and then a series of ‘easy’ bonuses. Whether the bonuses are easy or not, that doesn’t sound like a great offer.

It may not be enough for Toulouse and obviously Newcastle United could easily beat such figures. The Magpies are being linked with multiple options for central defence and it’s possible  Logan Costa would be seen as an alternative to others, unless they’re looking to bring in a more established player and a prospect for the future.
