Newcastle United have been strongly linked with Giorgi Mamardashvili for a number of weeks, with the Magpies making repeat offers to try and secure the Valencia goalkeeper.
Most recently, the slant has been that Valencia owner Peter Lim has been pushing for more than €40m for his stopper, with some in the Spanish media insinuating he was being unreasonable with that request.
However, he may have just managed to get what he wants, with claims now surfacing of a fresh offer from the Premier League club.
According to Cope journalist Perdo Morata, Newcastle United have submitted a €41m bid. That would very much look like them breaking that €40m barrier to try and please Lim.
That offer was made via agent Marian Khadour, and is now in the hands of Valencia. There’s no indication of whether it’s going to be accepted or not, but this surely now has to be enough for the Magpies to get their man.
If it’s not then it’s perhaps time to start looking at other options.
