Last week, we covered a claim from Pucela Fichajes which stated Newcastle United have their eyes set on Real Valladolid’s Iván Fresneda and Gonzalo Plata.
Fresneda was promoted to the senior team in January and has made nine appearances, out of which seven are this season.
The right-back’s limited appearances have been enough to draw attention from Newcastle United and a few other clubs.
According to Radio Marca Valladolid, relayed by ElDesmarque, the 18-year-old has several suitors for the January window and the Magpies are ‘serious’ about him.
The Spain U19 international’s contract lasts until 2025 and includes a €30m release clause. The first proposal that Newcastle would consider offering the La Liga side is not close to this figure.
It’s claimed the Tyneside club are ‘willing to pay’ a fee between €10m and €15m to secure the teenager’s services. Eddie Howe’s side could complete the deal in the winter market and allow Fresneda return to Valladolid on loan until the end of this season.
There’s no mention whether Valladolid would accept this formula or whether Fresneda is open to joining Newcastle.
