It seems the big race for Newcastle United target Marcos Leonardo won’t change Santos’ valuation of him.

A fresh report from Goal Brasil now claims the Peixe told the striker’s staff the price they’re expecting for the sale. It’s said an offer between €15m and €20m would be enough for a deal.

Santos’ board is said to be ‘compromised’ due to a promise they made the player, which is to sell him in January, so there shouldn’t be a big effort against the bids.

Newcastle are once again named as one of the clubs who are interested, as well as AS Roma and Real Madrid.

Previous reports from Brazil said Santos were looking to make between €20m and €25m with the sale. Goal Brasil and Thiago Fernandes are reliable, though, and it seems this is now the minimum amount they’ll require for a deal.

That’s undoubtedly a small price for Newcastle, who are being named in Brazil as the most interested club in the signing. Reports this week claimed that being released for the Olympics next year will be crucial for the player’s decision, so that’s a request the Magpies should get prepared for.
