On October 31st, Premier League Brasil stated Newcastle United had made contact with Santos to know the conditions to sign Marcos Leonardo.

Earlier this month, Globo Esporte reported Real Madrid had contacted the striker’s agent, days after the Magpies initiated contact themselves.

Bolavip Brasil have relayed claims made elsewhere about Real Madrid’s interest and they also provide an update on Newcastle’s pursuit of the 20-year-old.

With regards to the La Liga side, it’s claimed they have decided not to table an official offer.

The frontman decided against leaving the club in the last window despite being subject to interest from several clubs, and played a role in helping Santos avoid relegation. He’s scored 21 goals and registered four assists from 45 games this year.

Several European clubs have started to seek information and register interest in the Brazil U20 international, and Eddie Howe’s side are among them.

In fact, it’s claimed Newcastle have become the favourite team and are ready to present an offer worth around €18m including bonuses to sign Leonardo.

The player is expected to leave the club, and the outlet states the next Santos president should make a decision on his future.
