Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier is ‘waiting for news’ on a potential move to Beşiktaş, an option he appears keen on.

That’s according to journalist Sercan Dikme, who says it could be a busy few hours for the Turkish club and that could involve the arrival of Trippier from Newcastle.

The full-back had been expected to leave Newcastle before the end of the transfer window after seemingly falling out of favour under Eddie Howe this season.

He’s been replaced by Tino Livramento in the starting 11 and a move elsewhere would have suited Newcastle, who would also be happy to get his wages off of the books.

That never happened, at least not to one of the top five leagues in Europe, and so now he’s left looking at what options remain for him.

Turkey is one of them and Dikme reports that Beşiktaş may be one of them, with ‘busy hours’ ahead as their window closes on September 13th.

He reports on X that if the managed to move any players on in the next nine days, there may be arrivals at the club.

There are several footballers waiting to hear from them on that front and Trippier is one of those standing by.

That would suggest he’s keen on the move from Newcastle if it’s there to be secured but needs to wait on the phone call to arrive from Beşiktaş first.
