PSG just can’t get their goalkeeper situation sorted out.
They’ve tried, but it remains a position where the club are noticeably less than world class. Right now the senior pair are Alphonse Areola and Kevin Trapp, and the former made something of a howler against Inter Milan on Saturday.
Given their strength in other areas of the pitch, it’s constantly a topic in the French media, and, not for the first time, Newcastle United’s Martin Dubravka has been named as an option.
RMC report the Newcastle player is ‘targeted’ by the French champions, although they don’t give any more information than that. There’s no talk of negotiations between the two clubs, or even talks with Dubravka’s agent, and there’s not even a value put on him.
However, it goes without saying that PSG would be able to give Newcastle United a good profit on the stopper, which could be welcome to Mike Ashley, and potentially provide more funds for Steve Bruce to spend on his team ahead of the new season.
