Last summer, Eintracht Frankfurt made a late move to sign Newcastle United’s William Osula on loan with a purchase option.
In September, we covered claims from Germany that the Magpies had blocked a deadline day move. Later that month, Denmark manager Brian Riemer said the striker appears happy despite claims Newcastle United didn’t let him leave.
At the weekend, Bild reported Eintracht Frankfurt continue to chase the Newcastle United player. It was also stated they will open talks with Eddie Howe’s side to sign Osula in the winter market.
Sky Deutschland claim a January move for the 22-year-old is ‘taking concrete shape’.
The Dane has scored three goals and contributed one assist from 14 matches for Eddie Howe’s side.
He’s been sidelined with an ankle injury since the start of November. That hasn’t put off the Bundesliga side from making advances in their fresh pursuit.
There’s now a ‘preliminary verbal agreement’ between Eintracht Frankfurt and the frontman.
The German club’s aim is to sign Osula on loan with a €20m purchase option. The report states the move ‘depends on the Magpies’ owners’. In other words, Newcastle United’s owners will have the final say.
If they fail to sign Osula again, Eintracht Frankfurt have identified SV Elversber’s Younes Ebnoutalib as an alternative.
