The race for Paraguayan winger Ramón Sosa is today detailed by the Portuguese media.
With Benfica chasing the player, newspaper O Jogo shares a story talking about the competition for him, as Newcastle United are said to be one of the clubs in the race.
According to the report, Tallares are currently waiting for the best bid for the 24-year-old, as they admit they should lose him soon. Valued by Transfearmmarkt at €8m, the winger is protected by a US$20m release clause.
Benfica are believed to have an advantage over Newcastle and other clubs because Sosa recently changed agents, and is now represented by Eugenio Lopez, just like Ángel Di María and Nicolas Otamendi.
There is, however, no information about how much money the Eagles will put on the table, so we’re still to see if they’ll really put up a fight for the signing, despite having already opened talks.
Besides Benfica and Newcastle, O Jogo also managed to learn that Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in the player as well.
Playing for Tallares this season, Sosa has seven goals and six assists in 21 appearances.
