Two days ago, Newcastle United were mentioned as a potential suitor for Genk midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas.
There was a suggestion that the teenager is building attention from multiple clubs in Europe – including Manchester United, Liverpool and Napoli.
Tuttomercatoweb have reported more about the 17-year-old today, stating that Newcastle United have indeed looked at Karetsas in ‘recent weeks’ and the outlet urges the Magpies to move well in advance for the talented Greek.
They believe that Genk will not be making any bargains for the midfielder and want over €15m for their prized asset. There is a fair amount of praise for Karetsas, with the outlet stating that he has immense room for improvement and is already a ‘high-level profile’.
Greek outlet SportTime have already reported that potential suitors like Newcastle United will have to pay the sort of fee for Karetsas that makes him the most expensive player in the country’s history. To make that happen, Eddie Howe’s side will have to shell out a fee of over €25m in the summer transfer window.
The talent featured for the Greek national team during the recent international break and he also scored against Scotland on his first start for the country. It is easy to see why the hype for the attacking midfielder is rising.
