A couple of days ago we covered a report from Catalan newspaper Sport which stated Barcelona are running out of patience with Raphinha and he hasn’t lived up to the hopes they had when signing him from Leeds United.
In reality, Barcelona and their local media have been quite harsh since the transfer from Leeds United, expecting more than was perhaps realistic, not really knowing exactly what they want from the Brazilian, and just expecting regular moments of magic.
That same report stated Newcastle United had made a ‘very important’ offer for the player during the last summer market. At the time, Barcelona and the player’s camp turned down Eddie Howe’s side, believing that at least another season together was needed.
Today’s edition of Sport reports interest from Saudi club Al Hilal and it’s hoped that Barcelona could get an ‘out-of-market’ offer, meaning beyond the realistic value.
That again would be for the summer, and is perhaps a little too hopeful.
Newcastle United get another mention, and the Catalan side are ‘totally open’ to a sale in a few months. A move to the Magpies would surely be more appealing sportingly to the player.
