Arthur Atta seems likely to leave Udinese and Newcastle United are now leading the race for him.
The midfielder grew significantly in the 2025/26 campaign. He contributed to nine Serie A goals, with most of them coming in big games. His best game came against AC Milan at the San Siro, as he scored and assisted in a 3-0 win.

The Toffees are yet to step forward for Atta, who also attracted a January offer from Fulham.
Increasingly, the Frenchman looks set to leave and it is Newcastle United who lead the race for him.
Magpies interest pushed
Messaggero Veneto report on the midfielder, who also appeals to Galatasaray. The Turkish club are about to sell Nicolo Zaniolo permanently to Udinese and there is a very good working relationship between the parties.
This has led to them making advances for Atta, who is valued at €40m by the Friulian side.
Despite that, it is Newcastle United who are in ‘pole position’ for the 23-year-old. The report clarifies that Atta would come in as a replacement for Sandro Tonali.
Clubs in Spain and Germany are also keen on the player but St James’ Park appears as a more likely destination.
Udinese aiming for big sale
The Italian side seem to know they can’t keep Atta at the club for another season. This is making them consider a major sale and they want to earn as much as possible from him.
Pushing Newcastle United is a good tactic from them, especially as the Magpies can pay more than other suitors.
At the same time, the player might not cost €40m. It is a case of Udinese pushing for a high benchmark, when a deal can be done for less. They paid less than €10m to sign him permanently in 2025 and even €30m will go down as a big capital gain.
