Newcastle United remain in the mix for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, with a move to Saudi Arabia having fallen through.

That’s according to BILD, who report Boniface appears to be on his way out of the German club after Erik ten Hag made it clear that Patrik Schick would be staying. It had been suggested that at least one of the two would leave this summer.

With Ten Hag opting for Schick, that’s pushed Boniface closer to the exit door and Newcastle are very much after him.

He was linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in the January transfer window but that ultimately fell through. Now it will take €50m to secure his signature and Leverkusen want a sale.

Rheinische Post also report that Newcastle United are interested. They cover Leverkusen’s attacking options today and asses how they’ve done this season.

According to them, it’s been a disappointing campaign for the striker, who started strongly but never found his way back into the team after injury. All signs now point to a departure for him and Newcastle are believed to be interested.

Should the Magpies move, they’ll likely want a discount on that €50m
