Newcastle United’s route to VfB Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy may have just become clear as Arsenal are not chasing his signature, despite reports stating otherwise.

That’s according to BILD, who insist that Arsenal are not in the picture for the striker despite his superb goalscoring form so far this season.

Guirassy has been the talk of the Bundesliga this season after a superb start to the campaign that has seen him going toe-to-tow with Harry Kane in the goalscoring charts with a tally of 16 goals and one assist in 11 games so far.

Those are impressive numbers to say the least and have seen him linked with a move away in the January transfer window, when he has a €17.5m release clause active in his current deal.

Newcastle United are one of the sides believed to be keen on him as they look to bolster their injury ravaged squad and recent reports had also put Arsenal into the mix.

BILD, though, say the top clubs in Europe are not yet interested in the striker and that includes the Gunners. According to their information, there is currently no contact with Arsenal despite media reports to the contrary.

They admit there is always time for that to change over this month, particularly if Guirassy continues to score goals, but for now Edu Gaspar and his team are yet to show an interest.

That should come as good news for Newcastle, who, if they are as keen as reports have stated, currently have a much clearer route to the potential January addition than previously thought.
