Newcastle United are again being linked with a move for Raphinha. The Magpies were credited with interest when the Brazilian was still at Leeds United and stories have popped up periodically since then.
Some of those stories have been encouraged by the Catalan media, with repeat periods when it was very much insinuated Raphinha was up for sale despite not having long arrived.
Barcelona were presented as feeling they could make a profit on the player and that a Premier League club would just pay whatever they wanted.
Raphinha himself wasn’t interested and he’s stuck to that stance since. Mundo Deportivo now take reports from England to say Newcastle United are ‘back in action’ for Raphinha, and they then make the situation clear.
A Saudi club recently made a €65m offer for the player, and whilst that figure would have likely been acceptable to Barca, he’s ‘adamant’ he won’t be moving anywhere.
Raphinha has ‘no intention of leaving’ Barcelona, so if Newcastle United are returning then they’d have to join forces with his club to convince him to move. That seems unlikely at this stage.
