Last month, we covered claims from Italy that Aston Villa have joined Newcastle United and a few other clubs in the race for Juventus’ Matias Soulé.
On March 1st, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Magpies have been following the winger for several months.
Calciomercato bring both Newcastle and Aston Villa back into the fold, when discussing the Serie A side’s plan for the 20-year-old.
Soulé is currently on loan at Frosinone and has starred for them this season, managing 10 goals and two assists from 29 games.
In the winter market, the Argentina U20 international had snubbed Al-Ittihad after they made a €25m bid. The report states his valuation has now increased to €40m.
The Old Lady are planning to hold talks with Soulé’s agent to evaluate his situation, after several clubs showed interest. This includes both Newcastle and Aston Villa, and they are in the running to sign him.
It’s claimed the Premier League duo are well aware that they need €40m to secure the South American’s services.
Newcastle and Aston Villa will battle it out for Soulé in the summer. Juventus’ idea is to sell him to the highest bidder while they could also include him as part of the deal to sign Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners.
