Gabriel Sara is attracting transfer interest from the Premier League

Galatasaray’s Gabriel Sara is increasingly of interest to big European clubs, with Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United in the picture for his signing.

The midfielder has been one of the Turkish club’s most important players this season. He’s played 42 times in all competitions, contributing to 11 goals.

As well as playing deep in midfield, he’s often featured as a number eight, having the license to roam forward.

He also has experience of doing well in England, as he impressed at Norwich City before moving to Turkey.

Earlier this month, Sport Witness covered claims from Sporx about Aston Villa and Newcastle United scouting the midfielder. Tottenham have now been added to the pack for 26-year-old.

Attention continues to grow

Calciomercato IT take note of Italian interest in the Brazilian. Napoli specifically are keeping a close eye on Sara and see him as a potential alternative to Wolves’ Joao Gomes.

Their task is unlikely to be easy as English clubs are proving to be a big threat. Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Tottenham are all interested, with Napoli yet to make a formal move for the midfielder.

Atletico Madrid and Manchester United are also in the race, with the Brazil international’s current deal running out in 2029.

Because of that, Galatasaray want a fee of €35m to €40m. They’re clearly using interest from clubs to raise their price, with €30m previously mentioned as their valuation.

Our take: Norwich stint betters reputation

Gabriel Sara’s time at Norwich City has helped him attract clubs in England. More and more Premier League teams these days are inclined towards signing tried and tested players.

Considering that and how Sara has done this season, it makes sense for his entourage to use this summer as a good opportunity to make a move to England.

He is still 26 and considering his versatility in midfield, interest from Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United is no surprise at all. There is every chance a deal can also be done for less than €40m.
