As the Italian media continues to share optimistic news about Newcastle United’s pursuit of Sandro Tonali, it now seems like the transfer is a matter of time.
It was first Sky Sport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who claimed that there’s an ‘agreement in principle’ for the move.
He said that Newcastle made a ‘monstrous offer’ for the midfielder, and the talks now move forward for a deal.
The Magpies reportedly put €70m on the table. AC Milan responded with a counter-offer of €80m, and there’s just ‘the latest effort’ from the Premier League side to close the agreement.
According to Di Marzio, Newcastle have their sporting director in Milan to try to ‘satisfy’ the Rossoneri.
Meanwhile, Calcio Mercato journalist Daniele Longo also comes up with interesting news.
First of all, he says Tonali accepted Newcastle’s offer. That means the deal is only pending the agreement between clubs.
He then claims that an offer worth €80m plus €5-10m in bonuses is ‘indispensable from an economic point of view’. So it indeed seems like Newcastle just need a little push to get that done.
