Florian Thauvin is expected to leave Newcastle United this summer, as he doesn’t intend to play in the Championship.
Marseille are interested in signing him on another loan spell, whilst Lazio could offer a better financial package to Newcastle.
Yesterday, Italian newspaper Il Tempo reported Lazio have agreed a loan deal, with a mandatory clause to then buy Thuavin for €10m.
On Monday, Il Tempo reiterate Lazio’s agreement with Newcastle over Thauvin, but it seems they got the figures wrong yesterday.
Last night, Igli Tare, Lazio’s sporting director, decided to accelerate Thauvin’s arrival at Lazio.
A loan fee of €2.5m, with the option to buy for €11.5m, was agreed between both the clubs.
Il Tempo say Marseille’s interest in Thauvin is making things a bit complicated, as the player would want to return to France.
The reports in Italy are consistent in Lazio’s interest, but the figures seem to be all over the place.
