Earlier on Tuesday, we covered an article from the Italian media suggesting Newcastle United could return for Arkadiusz Milik after initial enquiries a few weeks ago.

Corriere dello Sport were the ones pushing it, and now we’ve got a second source, Calcio Napoli 24, claiming as an exclusive the interest is really there.

However, there is a caveat, which is that without the sale of Joelinton, who arrived from Hoffenheim last year, they are unlikely to be able to afford Milik on a permanent transfer.

It’s stated Napoli want around €20m for their striker, but with the Brazilian already at the club, the Magpies ‘could be preset as a loan with a view to buy’, which is something they are ‘thinking about’.

If a deal is agreed, on the other hand, then the wages asked by the Poland international wouldn’t be a problem.

Basically, the fee is currently ‘out of budget’ for Newcastle unless they manage to offload Joelinton between now and the end of the transfer window.
