With Newcastle United still named as one of the main contenders for the signing of Adrien Rabiot from Juventus, the scenario seems to be looking good for them.
Italian outlet Calciomercato today features a story claiming his contract renewal with the Old Lady remains ‘difficult’.
Even though Juventus haven’t ‘raised the white flag’ yet, there are not many hopes that a new deal will be signed.
That’s because they are only offering him a yearly salary worth €7m, while the player’s request is for €10m.
Newcastle are said to be one of the clubs who have already ‘tested the waters’ for his signing and wait for the outcome of this negotiation.
But it should still take a little longer for Rabiot to decide whether to stay or leave Juventus, as he wants to postpone that until the end of the season.
The good thing for Newcastle is that, according to Calciomercato, the ‘most likely destination’ for the midfielder is the Premier League.
However, the Magpies are not the only club trying to take him to England, with the outlet pointing out that Arsenal have already made contacts for that signing as well.
