On October 24th, Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea confirmed he had held talks with Newcastle United over a potential deal for Radu Drăgușin. A week later, he stated the Magpies are watching the Genoa star.
The Serie A side signed the centre-back on a loan deal from Juventus in 2022 and made his stay permanent earlier this year. His fine displays this season has seen him attract interest from several clubs.
Calciomercato.it state many clubs from Italy and abroad have expressed their interest in the 21-year-old. His agent’s ‘dream’ is to take the defender to the Premier League, where he has already had meetings with Newcastle.
In order to fulfil the agent’s dream, it’s said the track leading the Romania international to the Tyneside club could ‘warm up’. From Italy, AC Milan are showing keen interest in the Genoa player.
Manea had earlier revealed a fee of around €30m would be needed to convince Genoa, who paid €7m to buy him.
It’s likely Drăgușin could leave next summer and Calciomercato.it say Genoa are in line for a ‘huge capital gain’. Whether he will move to St James’ Park or elsewhere remains to be seen.
The Romanian has managed a goal and an assist from 18 games this season.
