With a move to Europe getting very likely to take place in the coming months, Brazilian star Vitor Roque continues to draw big attention from the Spanish media, where he now had an interview with outlet AS.
The youngster talked about his current club Athletico Paranaense and his plans for the future, as he’s recently been linked to several sides.
The interview had a mention to Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães, who used to play for the same Brazilian club in the past. There, Vitor Roque claimed he sees the midfielder as a ‘motivation’.
“I don’t talk much with him, but he did encourage me in a game. Bruno Guimarães is a player who has made a fantastic story in Paranaense, for me it is a motivation to want to achieve the path that he has set,” Vitor Roque told AS.
Curiously enough, Newcastle were said to be one of the clubs who are interested in Vitor Roque.
Back in January, it had been claimed that the Magpies were one of the clubs who got in touch with Athletico Paranaense and the youngster’s entourage to get to know more about his plans for the future.
The problem is that many other clubs are interested in him, with reports at the time naming Barcelona, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona in the competition.
So Newcastle would need to fight hard to win that competition, and could perhaps use Bruno Guimarães as a tool to convince the 18-year-old to move to St James’ Park in the near future.
