On May 27th, we covered claims made in France that stated Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby is on Newcastle United’s transfer agenda.
The winger finished the recently concluded season with 17 goals and 14 assists and is included in Didier Deschamps’s France squad for June’s fixtures.
L’Equipe takes a look at the possibilities of some national players changing clubs this summer. Diaby is mentioned since he is attracting interest from Newcastle United.
It’s claimed the 22-year-old is a ‘priority goal’ for the Magpies and it won’t be long before he receives the ‘first offer’ from Eddie Howe’s side. Diaby’s contract expires in 2025 and Leverkusen are trying to extend his contract by offering him an improved deal.
Christopher Nkunku is also included in the list and the RB Leipzig star remains open to changing clubs. He appreciates the Premier League, but the forward is ‘not convinced by the Newcastle project’.
Newcastle have also taken information about William Saliba, who spent the season on loan at Marseille from Arsenal. The Ligue 1 side want to keep him, while Mikel Arteta’s side intend to bring him back and extend the defender’s contract.
