Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães needed a little medical assistance during Brazil’s training session today.
As reported by journalist Isabelle Costa, it was following a shot from Antony that the ball hit the midfielder’s face and apparently hurt his jaw.
The Newcastle player then asked Brazil’s doctors to check on him, and after a quick examination, he returned the training session.
Bruno Guimarães was soon seen tackling Gabriel Jesus, and that was a sign that everything is fine with him.
The Magpies’ midfielder made his World Cup debut in Monday’s game against Switzerland. He was brought into midfield to play alongside Casemiro, and did a very good job there, with fans and media considering that he played better than Manchester United’s Fred, who started in that position.
Highlighted by Globo commentator Galvão Bueno, it was even said live that Newcastle turned down huge money from Real Madrid in order to keep Bruno Guimarães in their squad for the current season.
Following that performance, the 25-year-old can be considered a contender for a place in Brazil’s midfield while Neymar is out with an injury.
