Newcastle United are ‘very interested’ in striker Stefanos Tzimas and have a 35% chance of getting him this summer.

That’s according to BILD, who say Newcastle are currently in second place when it comes to Premier League interest in the 19-year-old.

Tzimas has been impressing on loan at Nuremberg this season. He has eight goals and two assists in 14 games in the 2. Bundesliga to date.

He’s currently on loan at the German club from Greek side PAOK Thessaloniki but they have an €18m option to buy. Nuremberg intend to take that up.

In fact, their plan is to activate that at some point early in the summer and immediately sell Tzimas on for a profit. They believe they can do so as up to 18 clubs are currently watching him across Europe.

Newcastle are one of them and are ‘very interested’ in the young striker. It’s stated they have ‘plenty of transfer money’ to spend. That means Tzimas’ €25m asking price is unlikely to pose much of an issue.

Thus, BILD rate their chances of getting him at 35% at this moment in time. Of course, there’s plenty of time for that to change come the summer.

The Magpies are in the mix, though. They’ll be watching Tzimas closely and are currently second favourites for his signature, at least inside the Premier League.
