Earlier today, we covered some reports regarding the exit of Isaac Hayden from Newcastle United, with it said it would happen sometime this week.
Well, that date appears to have been brought forward by Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to reveal the latest in the deal taking the midfielder to Standard Liège.
He explains that Newcastle and their Belgian counterparts are currently sorting out the ‘last administrative work’ to finalise the deal, which would see the 28-year-old head to the Jupiler Pro League club on loan.
The journalist then reminds his followers that Hayden ‘already signed’ his contract with Liège on Sunday, and an official announcement is ‘expected in the next few hours’.
Hayden has been at Newcastle since he signed from Arsenal’s U23s back in 2016, and slowly developed into an option for the club over the years.
He can boast 171 appearances for the Magpies in all competitions over the years, with seven goals and 10 assists to his name, but injuries stopped him from being a regular under Eddie Howe last season, as he was only able to feature 14 times in the Premier League.
