Sven Botman is ‘living the dream’ at Newcastle United after establishing himself as a key player in Eddie Howe’s side.
That’s according to Sport.FR, who cover the player today after another solid performance in the 1-0 win over Everton last night.
They say that Lille’s decision to sell Botman to Newcastle in a €37m deal in July was a ‘real gift’ to the Magpies, where he has already ‘become a star’.
He was a key figure for the French side, impressing so much that he found himself at the heart of a ‘fierce battle’ between AC Milan and Newcastle for his signature.
His decision to move to the latter has been disputed since the summer but the 22-year-old is now ‘putting everyone in agreement’.
Newcastle are now sixth in the Premier League after 11 games and have managed to keep up with their new ambitions, picking up a series of impressive results that ‘they owe a lot’ to their new Dutch prodigy.
He has made himself ‘indispensable’, forming a formidable partnership with Fabian Schar that is currently part of the best defence in England.
It’s earned him praise from the English media and Eddie Howe, and now the French are getting involved too, lamenting slightly the loss of a player who was once shining at Lille.
