Newcastle United are sending scouts to Leicester City on Thursday to watch Roma star Nicolo Zaniolo, who is on their radar.

That’s according to the Rome edition of Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the ‘eyes of the Premier League’ are on the Italian.

They explain that after his ‘splendid’ hattrick against Bodo/Glimt in the last round of the Europa Conference League, Zaniolo has picked up plenty of admirers.

There are several who ‘hope to have him one day’, and the ‘very rich’ Newcastle are one of them.

As a result, it’s believed they are set to send ‘very attentive spectators’ to the King Power on Thursday to watch him in the Europa Conference League clash with Leicester as the opportunity is too good to pass up.

Roma are aware of the increasing interest in their star man, and talks between them and the player over a new deal have been going on for some time.

They’re yet to get anywhere, and in the meantime, the ‘flattery’ from other clubs towards his entourage has been coming ‘thick and fast’.

So have the ‘sirens’, and while in Italy there is interest from Juventus and AC Milan, in England, Newcastle and Tottenham are ‘at the window’.

They’re now expected to send scouts on Thursday to rule their eye over Zaniolo in person, and a big performance could lead to increased efforts as we get closer to the summer transfer window.
