Eintracht Frankfurt’s Djibril Sow has ‘concrete interest’ from England, where Newcastle United are one of his suitors, according to Bild.

It’s claimed the Magpies are now ‘putting out feelers’ for the 25-year-old who has just over 18 months left on his contract.

Along with Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal are also in the transfer chase. The Tricky Trees even wanted to pay €20m to the Bundesliga side to secure the Switzerland international’s services in the summer, but he wasn’t ready to join them.

At the same time, the player has made it clear that he ‘dreams of a future’ in England.

“I have never made a secret of the fact that the Premier League is my wish and goal. It was also hugely lucrative for Eintracht Frankfurt. But my gut feeling decided that I should stay here,” he was quoted as saying earlier.

Sow is currently causing a ‘sensation’ at the World Cup with his national team, where he has managed one assist from three matches. This has apparently caught Newcastle’s attention, but the German side have no intention to part ways with him in January.

Bild claim both the player and the Bundesliga side should change their stance on a transfer next summer. That’s because Sow sees it as the right time to change clubs while it will be Eintracht Frankfurt’s last big opportunity to cash in from his sale.
