Newcastle United have joined the tussle to sign Gonçalo Ramos, according to claims from Portugal.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã today shares a short story saying the Magpies are about to ‘attack’ for the 22-year-old.
The outlet says Newcastle ‘prepare to present an offer’ for the striker, as they’ll ‘heavily invest’ in their squad this summer.
The Magpies reportedly know Benfica will only accept negotiating Ramos’ at €80m, so we shall see how much they’ll put on the table.
Correio da Manhã highlights the fact that the striker is well protected with a contract until 2025 and a €120m release clause, besides pointing out Manchester United ‘follow him closely’.
At the weekend, it was reported by the Portuguese media that an unnamed club were willing to offer €60m for the striker, and that would be not enough to take him from Benfica.
Now as Newcastle add to the list of clubs who want the centre-forward, we shall wait to see who will be the first to pay the price demanded by the Lisbon side.
