Brazilian outlet UOL today highlights the ‘decisive month’ that Newcastle United star Bruno Guimarães is about to have.
As previously reported, there’s a £100m release clause in his contract with the Magpies that allows him to leave the club for that amount until June 24.
The story points out that isn’t a scary price for some European clubs, and there appears to be some who could soon place that cash, or presumably a figure approaching that, on Newcastle’s table.
According to UOL, Bruno Guimarães’ entourage expect offers from at least two Premier League sides. Staying in English football is said to be his ‘priority’.
The outlet claims that clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona, who previously made approaches for him, now took a step back and are unlikely to move.
UOL point out that despite Newcastle’s disappointing season, Bruno still managed to show great individual form. That’s seen another factor that could lead to his exit.
It now remains to be seen whether those Premier League clubs will want to pay the clause or try to convince the Magpies with another type of offer.
