Eintracht Frankfurt made an attempt to sign Newcastle United’s William Osula towards the end of the summer. The Magpies rejected their approach to sign the striker on loan with a buying option.
Sky Deutschland report the German club offered a €5m loan fee with a €25m purchase option for the Newcastle player.
Eddie Howe’s side refused to let the 22-year-old leave but that hasn’t put off Eintracht Frankfurt. It’s claimed they want to make another attempt in January and have already discussed it with him.
According to the report, Eintracht Frankfurt ‘had already agreed on a move with Osula’. They haven’t specified whether this is for the winter market or last summer.
The player ‘still wants to move’ to the Bundesliga club and a winter transfer depends on negotiations between the two clubs.
Newcastle are asking around €30m for the frontman and Sky report Eintracht Frankfurt have no intention of matching this.
Osula has three goals and an assist from nine games this season. His game time has been reduced following Nick Woltemade’s arrival towards the end of August. This could be the reason the German club are refusing to meet Newcastle’s demands.
