On Sunday, Yankuba Minteh’s agent Bakary Bojang told the Chronicle Live that Newcastle United are willing to sell his client in the summer window. He also stated the winger has agreed terms with a club, without revealing their details.
Last season, the 19-year-old was on loan at Feyenoord, where he managed 11 goals and six assists from 37 games.
Everton and Brighton & Hove Albion are keen on signing the Newcastle player. That’s according to L’Equipe, who mention the Premier League duo in a report that focuses on Lyon’s interest in Minteh.
The Ligue 1 side are ‘pushing’ and are trying to beat the competition from Everton and Brighton to sign the youngster this summer.
It’s claimed Minteh is in ‘serious contact’ with Lyon, and they have made an offer to Eddie Howe’s side.
Marseille have also made contact to sign the Newcastle attacker. They view him as a ‘great talent’ and a market opportunity.
A source close to this case have told L’Equipe that Newcastle’s requests are an issue for Marseille.
“With economic control of the Premier League, Newcastle must make sales before June 30th, Marseille have enquired. But the English are asking far too much for it at the moment, and the trail is not too thorough so far,” a source said.
The newspaper makes no mention of Newcastle’s demand or the fee proposed by Lyon to sign the Gambia international.
