Newcastle United will need to make a ‘substantial and convincing’ offer to AC Milan for Malick Thiaw, with no agreement in place between the two clubs.
That’s according to Milan News, who say reports from England that there is a deal in place are wide of the mark.
Newcastle United are believed to be keen on adding another centre-back to their squad this summer, despite securing Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer from Bournemouth.
Thiaw has been named regularly among the players they are looking at and reports in England had even suggested they were in agreement with AC Milan over a potential move for the defender.
Milan News insist that isn’t the case, though, and there is no agreement in place between Newcastle and AC Milan at this moment in time.
They insist that the reports coming from England are wide of the mark and ‘there is no type of agreement’ in place despite Newcastle’s interest being made public for some time.
That’s because the Rossoneri value the defender at €40m, so Newcastle will need a ‘decidedly substantial and convincing offer’ if they are to convince them to sell.
It seems they’re yet to make such an offer for Thiaw and so there is no deal in place as yet, even if they are keen on the defender.
